The fundamental importance of FC BARCELONA's SUPPORTERS' CLUBS (PENYA) in spreading and fostering a sense of belonging to the club over the course of its history is well known.
Ever since it was founded in 1899, such associations have seen unceasing growth, and received the unwavering support of FC BARCELONA itself.
The Club now sees them as more necessary and important than ever in fostering the Club's traditional values of ethics, civic responsibility, social integration, tolerance, sportsmanship, fair play, solidarity, democracy, Catalan identity, universality and other principles reflecting the social commitment of FC BARCELONA.
The Supporters' Clubs of FC Barcelona are independent associations established under the terms of Article 22 of the Spanish Constitution, governed by their own Bylaws; by the Catalan Associations.
Their purpose is to help foster, maintain and improve the representativeness and public profile of FC BARCELONA worldwide, and to promote the Club's traditional values and a sense of fellowship among its members and supporters, in furtherance of the Club's aims.
Membership status applies to all natural persons belonging to an FC BARCELONA Supporters' Club, voluntarily accepting the Bylaws of the Supporters' Club itself, subject to the rights and duties established in the corresponding legislation, and with a commitment to the purposes of the association.
